Tahir Mehmood Abbasi is an advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and has 26 years of vast experience in all forms of dispute resolution.
Tahir started his practice in Rawalpindi/Islamabad under the tutelage of Justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam (late) and quickly rose to prominence as a successful litigator. He has conducted a multitude of cases comprising all forms of litigation before the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the High Courts, and the District Courts of the country and is thus well versed in the litigation landscape and what it takes to pursue a case effectively. He was also appointed as the Assistant Advocate General of Punjab and represented the province before the Lahore High Court in a large number of cases.
Tahir frequently acts for and advises private and public sector clients. His clients include local and foreign corporations, banks, regulatory authorities and government departments. He has rich expertise in a number of areas of civil law having represented hundreds of clients before various forums.
Tahir also has significant experience in the field of alternative dispute resolution and acted as lead counsel in arbitration matters for several multinational companies including ZTE Corporation (in a multi-million dollar dispute arising out of a design/manufacture/supply contract of LDI/NGN systems) and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in a construction/contractual dispute.
Tahir was recently nominated as a member of the Panel of Neutrals under the Alternative Dispute Resolution Act, 2017, by the Federal Government in consultation with the Islamabad High Court.
