Hamad has seven years of dispute resolution experience. His dispute resolution practice has involved constitutional, civil, commercial and criminal litigation before the District and High Courts and he has represented both the private and public sector entities in a number of such cases. In the recent past, he has advised WAPDA, the sole regulator of the power industry in Pakistan, and has also been appearing on its behalf in contentious matters before the High Courts. He has pursued general civil, labour, contractual disputes, land revenue, cantonment and land acquisition cases on behalf of individual and corporate clients. He has developed strong litigation skills, besides a sound and comprehensive legal knowledge base.

Hamad has previously been associated with reputable law firms and gained expertise in diverse areas of legal practice. He remained an active part of a team which successfully defended the Pakistan Telecom Authority and the Government of Pakistan in a major damages claim amounting to US $ 931 Million by a major telecom vendor.

Hamad has considerable experience in handling infringement proceedings pertaining to intellectual property disputes, and has represented numerous parties in registration cases, and intellectual property disputes before the Intellectual Property Tribunal and the High Court.

Hamad has assisted in international arbitrations; conducted a number of local arbitrations under the Arbitration Act, 1940, which include representing a major real estate company in a construction dispute; and an international telecom company arising out of a supply of equipment contract. He has also appeared in courts in matters related to the enforcement of domestic and foreign arbitral awards.

Apart from civil law practice, Hamad has experience of arguing bail petitions, conducting criminal trials and other ancillary matters. He successfully argued a writ petition (habeas corpus) against the Excise and Taxation Department, Punjab and got recovered the detenubeing illegally detained by the aforesaid department under the garb of their powers under the Land Revenue Act, 1967.

In addition to his disputes practice, Hamad maintains an active advisory and transactional practice. He often renders comprehensive legal opinions on various aspects of the law to individuals; private and public sector entities in Pakistan and abroad particularly foreign law firms regarding the Pakistani law.

Hamad has been involved in drafting and negotiating various types of commercial agreements, including, inter alia, service agreements, shareholder agreements, share purchase agreements, financing agreements, agency agreements, partnership agreements, software as a service (SaaS) agreements and software license agreements. He was also part of a team that carried out transactional work for an internationally acclaimed trans-media production company. Work included legal advice on intellectual property matters, drafting joint-venture agreements, trainee contracts and contracts for permanent employees with a detailed focus on non-disclosure agreements.

Hamad recently provided legal advice and ongoing legal support to an international IT company developing an informative software on General Data Protection Regulation; the uniform legal code relating to data protection implemented in the European Union.

Hamad has also been part of a team of lawyers conducting due diligence of target entities and assets on behalf of multinational acquirers in the telecom sector.
